Over

The expression "time flies" is one that I think I'll always overlook and never take seriously, although it is one of the most accurate statements one will hear in a lifetime. I believe that I can say the past month has gone by quicker than any of us would have thought. Here are some things I (Joey) have left to say:
1. Thank you Chris, for that day on the lake. It made our project.
2. Group-You've been great, and I can say that even though we had a slow start, we pulled it together when "crunchtime" came around.
3. Who are you SEE Committee?
4. And to the blog/facebook followers, thank you. I know there were few, but it made the difference to us.

I've attached some photos from the past week or so for everyone to take a look at.
 Altman being a guy.
Thanks again Chris! On another note, maybe one day we can all be as tough as Connor's grandpa and mean-mug all photos taken of us.
This guy was rad! Whoever you are, thanks for allowing Connor and I to film/shoot you taking off over our heads.
A shot of NFHS I'll definately be including in the project.
Timelapses, and renegades with ice tea.

That's all I have to say. Hopefully everyone can come to the SEE Fair on Friday June 10th from 9-11 in the morning or 5-7 at night. We'll be there with the final video/photo slideshow.

Another long day

It seems that this SEE Project has got us waking up earlier than we'd have to had we stayed in school. After two previous timelapse attempts that ended poorly, we decided to take it up a notch and meet up at the school at 4:45 am to film the sunrise over the hills prior to leaving for our Senior Trip to Lake Compounce.

It turned out that this was a good idea because not only was the day perfect for a time lapse, but we managed to successfully capture our best time lapse yet - one that will most likely appear in our final video.

It seems today was just a day of breakthroughs because after filming the time lapse, I (Dan) ate my first breakfast item at McDonalds in my whole life (18 years). Inspired by Joe Yedowitz telling me how amazing a McGriddle is, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese McGriddle. It was disgusting. Not only were my taste buds infuriated by the thought of trying to process egg, pancake, bacon, maple syrup, and who knows what kind of cheese all at once, but the McDonalds lady charged me fifty cents extra just for ordering orange juice. Apparently only coffee is included in the meal price of $3.99 - a price I was not willing to exceed for such a disgusting concoction.Naturally I had to take back my orange juice (probably from concentrate) order and replace it with the coffee. This event would have ruined my day had we not filmed such a great time lapse beforehand.

Lake Compounce was fun too.

Joey also was kind enough to stay home from the Lake Compounce trip to do some scheduling for our SEE Group. He talked with our former principal from Meeting House to organize a time to film there. Photos from that day to come next week.

Nostalgia

Today was a decently successful day as we got several things done. First off, Muenkel and Connor reminisced about their childhood by meeting with Mrs. Seeley, the principal of Consolidated School about filming there. As they told me (Dan), this was a blast. They also told me a secret that would change the way I looked at my Consolidated education forever.

Meanwhile, Joey and I found a trail that would take us to a lookout over Squantz where we are going to film our timelapse starting at 4:30 am tomorrow morning. It's going to be a long morning.

Oh, and we also got some great footage of the playgrounds by the High School fields. I got some crazy slow-mo shots of children on swings (with their parents' permission), but Connor and Muenkel ditched me because they were afraid of being charged with a misdemeanor.

In other news, we had our prom this past weekend. Here's a photo of 3/4 of our SEE group.

If you look closely in the bottom rightof the photo, you can see Muenkel swimming in the lake.

A Change in Tides

Today was a real solid day of videography and photography. I shot two rolls, and Dan and Connor filmed a solid amount on footage, which hopefully will be up soon, while Muenkel created the facebook page at last. Make sure to "like" us on facebook, and keep checking in with the progress.

Hidden Valley Nature Center, one of the many nature preserves our town has to offer. I gotta go back and shoot the sign again.
I don't even know how this happened.
A view from the dock I have on Candlewood Lake.

Again, keep checking up on our blog, facebook, flickr account, and youtube! We'll post some new stuff for you guys soon.

May 26th

Today wasn't the best day we had. Not only did I do two hours of solid shooting for no reason at all, but we also struggled with creating a facebook page. In spite of all that, here are some shots from wednesday, none came out too good, and I plan on shooting the school at sunset instead, just because it would look so much better than the ones from yesterday came out.

Disapointment

After a solid afternoon of shooting, I went to rewind one of the best rolls of film I've shot for this project. Turns our that it never went fully around the spool, and I shot absolutly nothing. Some other photos will be up later.

More Filming

Today, the nicest day in two weeks, we filmed a little bit of everything. First we went to the school to photograph and film the fields and the tennis courts. The GoPro helmet cam came in handy especially when we were able to capture Kevin Muenkel's fury from a first person camera angle (see facebook). Later we drove through beaver bog while filming out the window, and we also visited Candlewood Isle and Knollcrest. Here are some photos.
